Primula
Primula has a proud tradition and heritage as generations have enjoyed its cheesy taste and cheeky personality over the last 70 years.
The original recipe for Primula’s popular spreadable cheese was created in 1924 by Olav Kavli in Bergen, Norway and the delicious blend of cheeses, mixed with other appetising ingredients, is still used today.
Inspiration for the name Primula came the first flower of spring in Norway – the Primrose - and although the packaging of the products has changed with the times, it’s unique identity and distinct taste has proved timeless, suiting palates of all ages all, all over the world.
Today Primula continues to offer wholesome goodness and great taste, teamed with the convenience and versatility demanded by our busy lifestyles.
Containing a higher proportion of natural cheese than any other brand, it is a good source of calcium and has a lower fat content than ordinary hard cheese.
Its outstanding cheesy taste was recognised by a panel of expert judges at the prestigious 2005 Nantwich International Cheese Show where Primula beat other leading brands to win the Gold Award for the cheese spread category.
