It was in Kirkcudbruight that Sir Thomas MacLellan built his Castle which was completed in 1582. Four hundred years on in 1982 and almost in the shadow of the castle itself, Castle MacLellan Foods was established.

Today Castle MacLellan is the UK’s brand leader in pate and has a tradition of excellence and a reputation as the category expert.
